The Projet Mini-Bee FCU ESTACA 4A SQY is a collaborative project aimed at prototyping a Flight Control Unit (FCU) for a new hybrid Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) drone called Mini-Bee. The drone is designed to be easily demountable and has a vocation for light medical evacuation, with a speed of 170km/h, a range of 600 km, and a maximum takeoff weight of 700 kg. The project involves several universities, including ISPEB ESTACA, ESTACA 3A SQY, Centrale-Supélec, ESIGELEC, ESTACA 4 SQY, and Cy tech, who will use the definition of the FCU to build a prototype with certified critical electronic components. The project is divided into two semesters, with the first focusing on defining the project and conducting research on drones, while the second focuses on prototyping the FCU using an Arduino Mega and various sensors, such as the MPU 6050 gyroscope and a joystick. The project was successful in achieving its objectives, and the next steps involve improving the prototype and adding more sensors, as well as working with Cy-Tech to create a prototype with certified components.
